2008年2月、谷門美術TANIKADO ARTSは北青山の地にひっそりとオープンいたしました。国内外の現代美術、とりわけ20~30代の若い作家を中心に紹介してまいります。
運営は、art project roomARTZONE、magical,ARTROOM、ART AWARD TOKYO2007事務局を経て独立した、谷門美術株式会社代表の谷門彩子と、同じくmagical,ARTROOM、ART AWARD TOKYO2008事務局を担当したOffice Chisato Yamashita代表の山下千智の２人によって行われます。
作品のプライスだけが取り沙汰されがちな日本の現代美術マーケットを拡大し、社会にアートを浸透させるためには、作品を作る作家だけでなく、社会にむけてその力をプロデュースさせていく才能も不可欠です。若い作家を、若いギャラリストがプロモート、またその作品を若い層のコレクターが買って行く。その仕組みの創出の一端を担い、次世代に向けたマーケットの拡大を狙い、また、作品の価格や作家の有名無名に関係なく、「良いものは良い」という美術に触れる純粋な楽しみや喜びを提案していけたら、と思っています。
日本のアートの持つ工芸性や美意識を現代美術という文脈で紹介し、若い才能を精力的に発掘紹介して参ります。
In February 2008, TANIKADO ARTS has been launched as a commercial contemporary art gallery which revolves around the artists in their 20s and 30s.
Not only the creators but also the promoters such as gallerists or curaters who are enthusiastic to let art penetrate deeply into society are absolutely essential to go after the wider market.
We will create the sytem for the next generation that young gallerists deal the works by young artists and young collectors purchase them, promoting Japanese own sense of beauty and craftsmanship among the contemporary art scene.
